Land Use Plan and Capital Infrastructure Plan
Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation has developed a Land Use Plan and Capital Infrastructure Plan for the community. Both plans have established a vision for the future of our community and a path to get there.
With the input and guidance of the community and the assistance of Neegan Burnside Ltd and Shared Value Solutions, we have compiled these two plans in unison.
The Land Use Plan is now complete and has been approved in February 2022 and will be used as a guidance document. The Capital Infrastructure Plan is now complete and has been approved in June 2023 and will also be used as a guidance document.
These plans will assist with operating in an efficient manner and will be foundational in producing further guidance documents and policies.
About the Land Use Plan
The Land Use Plan will guide future planning on reserve lands. It outlines the areas of current use as well as provides options and guidelines for future use.
About the Capital Infrastructure Plan
The Capital Infrastructure Plan will identify ways to address infrastructure challenges, such as housing, water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and disposal, solid waste management, roads and drainage, and communications. This Plan will support prioritizing Neyaashiinigmiing’s infrastructure needs by identifying key objectives from community input and providing recommendations based on engineering principles.
